this place did have a clean bathroom, but my carpet was ancient and smelled musty, it was more parking lot view than garden, which is kind of a letdown. i also expected a room upgrade or at least some compensation for the inconvenience, but that obviously didn't happen, so thanks for nothing, valois motel!

The floor was tilted at an alarming angle and made it dizzying to stand. It felt like a poorly maintained space that is past its prime and desperately needs updating.

The restaurant served classic American dishes that wowed my taste buds, and the view of the river made every meal feel special. The staff, despite some hiccups, went out of their way to help with luggage, showing genuine care and service that’s hard to find.

However, the room was a wild ride with a floor slant that had a jar rolling like a tumbleweed, and the toilet felt like an unsteady ship at sea. Plus, the only lock was the door handle, leaving me wondering about security. Definitely needs some TLC!

I was really impressed with the generous serving sizes at mealtime and the stunning views overlooking the water during my stay. Relaxing by the garden area and using the barbecue facilities made for a great time to unwind. The room could've used a bit more cleaning, but overall, it was a solid experience—definitely recommend grabbing a meal outside! 🌅

the valois motel & restaurant offers great homemade meals, with friendly staff and clean rooms. the location near the picturesque river makes it perfect for a relaxing stay! we loved the welcoming atmosphere.

I had a great experience at valois motel & restaurant, exceeding my expectations during my previous visit to mattawa. The staff was cute, and the food was delicious with generous portions. The beautiful view of the ottawa river.
